Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm currently 16 years old, about 150 lbs. and about 5'2". I am sexually active and I've had about 3-4 UTI's and the last one I encountered landed me in the ER with about a 102 fever and full body shivers that hurt. After taking the prescribed antibiotics i was back to normal, but ever since that UTI I've been leaking pee AFTER I urinate. during my infection i rad that I should try and empty my bladder, so I'm not sure if I tried TOO HARD. Everytime after I urinate now, I can stand up and walk to the sink to wash my hands and a little pee leaks out. What's wrong with me and how can I fix this?
Usually after each episode of urination, the bladder empties to completion but, some urine remains back in the urethra which does not come out at the very instance. So just wait for few seconds and urethral musculature will contract and the remaining urine which is there in the urethra will come out. If you allow this, there will be no leaks. Also sometimes if there is any residual urinary infection, this kinds of leaking may be present. Drink a lots of fluids and give sometime after urination to void the urethral part.
