Why Don't Babies Sleep?

hello doctor, my baby only 6 weeks older. She is not getting proper sleep.
Sheis producing more gas now. This might be the reason for sleepless day & night. If I will place her on lap she is sleeping for sometime & as soon as I will keep her on bed she starts moving her hands & leg & is getting up.Night she is making some unusual sound & not getting sleep.I am giving her COLICAID 3 times a day but don't think that it is showing any improvement in her.

HI...I will quote a simple thing for your understanding. In the womb everything is dark and the babies wont know the difference between day and night. After they are born, their biological clock needs to be set by nature and it will take some time in some babies. Other possibility is a gastrocolic reflux which occurs due to baby swallowing a lot of air in the eagerness of sucking. Unless the air comes out like burping or flatus this discomfort will be there and next time check if she is sucking too fast and gulping in air too. You will be more convinced. Usually I don't advice any medicines for this as they give only temporary relief.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
