I'm on birth control pills and take them regularly never miss any I've been on them for about 2 years. I started my period 12 days early and have been on it for 12 days. It started as spotting then became a little heavier with a brown color then got more havey with a bright red. Then just the other day it was a grey and now today a pinkish orange what could this mean?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,
The occurrence of the current symptoms of irregular and persistent bleeding calls for an examination by a specialist along with a sonogram and blood counts. It could be an out of the way hormonal imbalance usually expected during the early months of pill usage, usually secondary to some forgotten pills or weight disturbances. You may need styptics and additional hormones after investigation. Please see your consultant for further management. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
