Why Had Vaginal Bleeding Post Menopause While Taking Hormone Replacement Medicine?
Hi. In am a 57 year old post menopausal female. Last week, I experienced vaginal bleeding for one day. The next day it stopped and has not returned. I am taking hormone replacement, bio identical and have been for about 3 years. My mother died of ovarian cancer. I do urinate frequently. Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for the query. Postmenopausal bleeding can be seen due to different causes. Like: -Atrophied endometrial tissue due to menopause. -Infections -Increased blood supply to local genital organs. -Sometimes endometrial thickening can occur due to HRT and that can lead to bleeding. If she recommends go for investigations like ultrasound, endometrial biopsy. With this workup the possible cause for your problem can be identified and management can be planned accordingly. Take care.
