Why Have I Been Having Mild Stomach Discomfort Accompanied By A Lot Of Belches?

For a few weeks, I have been having mild stomach discomfort accompanied by gas (burping). I have no diarrhea, constipation, nausea, or vomiting. It seems to be getting a little more frequent. I am also having mild fatigue recently. Should I see a doctor?

Hello,

You are having mild stomach discomfort that is accompanied by a lot of belches. You are feeling fatigue but no nausea, vomiting or constipation. You are suggested to avoid taking oily, fried food. Do not take processed or packaged food, avoid food that triggers your symptoms. For relief you can take antacids or PPIs, for 7-10 days. It will help to reduce gastritis and discomforts that you are experiencing.

You are suggested to take high fiber diet. Take adequate water. Stay away from addictions if any. Do not skip meals, take home made nutritious food. You can take digestives or liver tonics. Avoid taking food that is hard to digest for a couple of days. Get clinically examined, get liver function tests done to confirm or detect any developing liver problem. Sometimes, these symptoms may be indicative of ulcer (peptic ulcer or esophageal ulcer. You will be accordingly treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
