Why Have I Got Pain Around The Mid Right Section Of The Abdominal Area And Gas?

I have a pain around the mid right section of my abdominal area. I have been gassy. I had a colonoscopy last Thursday and everything was good. I don t know if it is just my system trying to get back to normal. Or is it something else. I get up and walk around and it not as bad, but when I sit it really starts to spasm.

Hello,

You are having pain in the mid section of the abdominal area associated with gas formation. You had a colonoscopy done and everything is good. Your symptoms may be indicative of indigestion, stomach ulcer, IBS, hernia, appendicitis, constipation, gall stones, liver or kidney dysfunction. You are suggested to take high fiber diet, to help better bowel movement, stay adequately hydrated, take fluids and water.

You can take laxatives, to avoid constipation and hence prevent gastritis. You can take PPIs, one SOS when needed to get rid of gas and abdominal discomfort. Avoid eating oily, spicy junk food, trans fat, full fat dairy products, food that cause gas, etc., as it may trigger your symptoms and may cause ulcer. Prefer to take boiled food cooked in olive oil.

Get clinically examined by a GP, get blood tests, urinalysis, imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing your symptoms. You will be accordingly treated. Take rest between work and stay away from stress, anxiety & addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
