Hello,

After taking medicines for ovulation induction you can wait for up to 2 weeks to see whether you are getting periods or you are pregnant. Even after 2 weeks if you fail to get your periods you can do a blood test - beta HCG to rule out any chance of early pregnancy. If the test is negative you can take progesterone for withdrawal bleeding.

You can try up to 3 to 6 cycles with clomiphene citrate for inducing ovulation. Consider doing a follicular study during the cycle so that you will exactly know the time of ovulation and so you can consider having timely contact. This will ensure that you won't miss the fertile period. If you are not ovulating with the starting dose of clomiphene citrate your health care provider can increase the dose. But if you are not ovulating even after 3 cycles of treatment you can consider re evaluation for the treatment plan.

Combining metformin tablet may have some benefit. Meanwhile, regular exercise, healthy eating habits ,regular sleep and a stress free life all helps in conceiving. I hope you have done with other tests for infertility - prolactin, TSH, tubal study, screening for local infection and male partner evaluation (semen analysis). If not please consider doing and get back to me with the reports so that I can help you better.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
