Why Having Spotting Before Period When Pregnancy Test Is Negative?

Hello. 2 weeks ago I took a pregnancy test. A faint second line appeared, then it disappeared a few mins later. I took 2 more test, 1 that same day, and 1 today, they both came out negative. Im now having light spotting 5 days before menstrual cycle is supposed to began. What do you think this Is all stemming from?

Hi,

Spotting before period could be a sign of the future cycle and not always has an obvious cause. It could be an:
- Early sign of pregnancy
- Hormonal fluctuations in the body
- Birth control pills etc.
In your case, as the HPT is negative wait for the cycle. If period is getting delayed, you can do serum beta HCG test, as hormone doubles up in case of pregnancy.
