Hi,

After stopping the progesterone tablets sometimes it may take one week to ten days for the onset of withdrawal bleeding. Deviry contains medroxyprogesterone, the other two drugs Regesterone and Norglen also contain progesterone in different forms. Now, what you can do is, you can wait till 1/12 for your periods. If your periods start by that time your menstrual flow will be possibly stopped by that time and you may not have problem during the function. If you do not get periods, even by 1/12, to prevent the occurrence of withdrawal bleeding during the function you may need to start taking progesterone tablets again.

You have to start the tablets 5 days before the function and have to use till the completion of the function and then stop. Later in a few days you can get withdrawal bleeding. But repeated intake of progesterone tablets can alter your future menstrual cycles. Please discuss these things with your gynecologist and follow her advice.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
