Why Is Benztropine Prescribed For Bipolar Disorder?

My son was given benztropine 2mg for bipolar and for hallucinating he was also given olanzapane 5 mg. My issue is the benztropine 2mg that is for treating Parkinson s, why was he prescribed something for muscle spasm and other things that doesn t pertain to his condition? I m sure I must be missing something, I m not a doctor......lol Please help!

Sometimes olanzapine can cause Parkinson like symptoms as side effects. So benztropine is given to control it.
