Why Is Decdan Injection Given During Pregnancy?

Hello Doctor!I am carrying 36 weeks 2 months pregnancy at present. My due date is on 6th of Feb,14. I want to to ask that is it too early? Also I have been asked to take 2 amp of Decdan injection today and the same dose is to be repeated tomorrow after 12hrs. what is this for?

It is given to enhance fetal lung maturity and has no harmful effects on baby.
Yes this is earlier than desired date of delivery but still baby will be fine if delivered.
