Hi & Welcome.

Keflex (Cephalexin) is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including upper respiratory infections, ear infections, urinary tract infections and skin infections.

Based on the history, Keflex is prescribed to treat the possibility of infection following the post traumatic wound on the back of his leg. Let him continue to take it if he is not allergic to it.

Hope this answers your query.
