Why Is Thyronorm 12.5mcg Given To A Thyroid Patient?
Hi , my dad is having thyroid. I was just browsing it. What ever symptoms he tells confirms that he has hyper thyroid. BUt the medicine which is given to him is thyronorm 12.5 mcg.. Is this correct. Thyronorm is for hypo thryroid right... Please confirm.
I think there is confusion at some level. Your father need anti thyroid drugs like carbimazole or methimazole if he has hyperthyroid symptoms and blood parameters indicate so. Thyronorm is prescribed in patients with low level of thyroid hormones. You can consult you doctor for clarification. Hope i have answered your query. Get well soon.
