Why Is A Child Experiencing Rashes, Green Mucus In Diarrhea And Abdominal Pain?

My daughter is 2 1/2 yrs old. Shes had foul smelling explosive brown/greenish mucus diarrhea for about 3 weeks. I just noticed she has a rash, her hands and feet are cold & she says her stomache hurts. She has loss of appetite, extreme thirst, irritable & bloated. Today she vomited and it smelled rancid. Do I take her to the emergency room?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A history of foul smelling voluminous stools, rash on body, pain abdomen, irritability suggests infection of the gastrointestinal tract.
Presence of rash suggests viral infection.
Since, your baby is suffering from diarrhea there are chances of dehydration.
Dehydration can be prevented by maintaining nutrition and hydration of the baby.
You can give ORS solution to maintain hydration.
You need to consult your pediatrician for clinical examination and prescription of antibiotic.

Thanks and take care
