Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother 65 years old has been asked to go through stress thallium test. She is a kidney patient, with High Blood pressure and on dialysis since last 12 months. Since last 4 days or so she had been under extremly high bp 200+/100+ kept on dosage of arkamin/amlovas etc. I am trying to understand why would the test have been suggested. could there be something further more serious.
Thallium scan is used to know the structural and activity profile of our heart muscle.as the blood pressure is high it leads to suspicion of unhealthy heart.so the taste is suggested.
