Why Is Heart Attack Patient Put Into Medically Induced Coma?
I am wondering about the reasoning for putting a heart attack victim into a medically induced coma. It has been three days today. The doctors are saying congestive heart failure and he was unconcious for a few minutes while CPR was administered and the paramedics arrived. A stent was put in at the ER and he already had two. I am trying to be positive for my family, but it is getting harder each passing day.

Why Is Heart Attack Patient Put Into Medically Induced Coma?
This is to decrease the metabolic demand so the body does not have to work as hard and there is less strain on the heart.
