General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
PCOD is itself the cause of late periods. It's because of failure of ovulation process which is a complicated process. Production of gravid follicles, their rupture is called ovulation. The detailed causes for anovulation are needful followed by treatment of the basic call. All the treatment needs consistent efforts &patience. Please consult an expert gynecologist at a fertility clinic.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
