Why is my 9 yr old grandchild so fearful of sleeping alone? He is an only child but lives with his loving supportive parents who provide him with a stable home and environment. He is sensitive and bright, mature in logical thinking but immature in social skills.

The condition of your grandchild can be an usual phobia which is present in most children.When he grow up it will go gradually.But if it is in excess you can consult a child psycologist to have an evaluation and counselling which will benefit him.Hope this may help you.
