I gave birth 6 weeks ago, I had a 2nd degree tear but I refused to be stitch, well i ended up getting a infection I was on antibiotic and it cleared up. But now my bum is really sore red and it smells with some discharged. It hurts far too much for me to poo so I m leaving it days sometimes a week before I poo which is so so so painfull what could this be?
I am really surprised that you refused to get the tear stitched up. Now the wound has got infected giving you all the symptoms. The antibiotics will control the infection temporarily however, it is very difficult to get the wound in the perinial area to get healed by secondary union as it frequently gets contaminated and infected by stools and/or urine. The only way out for you is to consult a good obstetrician, get wound repaired by opening and suturing after infection control and antibiotic coverage. Now it is not as minor surgery as it was suturing the original tear.
