Why Is My Child Having Abnormal Temperature When Suffering From Strep Infection?

Hello, my son (6 year olds) has strep and started taking antibiotics yesterday. His temperature is subnormal but he feels clammy. I read somewhere that this can be normal when fighting off an infection. Is there anything I should do other than keep him as warm as I can? Thank you!

Hello dear
Thanks for your query at HCM
I understand your concern.

subnormal temperature indicate that antibiotic has started working and reducing infection load on the body. This is a normal phenomenon , nothing to worry about it. No need to keep him very warm keep child at his comfort.
