Why Is My Child Having Yellow Colored Watery Diarrhoea?

HI. I have a one year old daughter and for the past 4 days she s yellow kinda watery/kinda firm diarrhea but she only goes maybe once a day. I ve only noticed it at night when she wakes up crying. She has no other symptoms that I have noticed besides being crankier than usual. She still eats pretty good but to me she is not acting the same.

Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

Watery diarrhea is caused by a infection. We can easily understand that by the color, because yellow color is suggestive of an infection called Giardasis.
However, to be sure for that a stool culture is necessary.
A complete blood count and an urine test are also necessary in these cases.

The treatment of this condition is complex, so you must consult a pediatric infectologist.

Regards.
Dr. Behar.
