Why Is My Father Coughing So Much After Angioplasty?

My father in law hand an angio plasty to remove two blockages from his legs... he came home after 2 days and is very much active. however he has been coughing a lot and gets frequent fever, can you pls tell me as to what could be the cause of this and what needs to be done?

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Coughing with fever indicates respiratory infection.
2. If there is sputum production, get a sputum culture, if not, a swab from posterior pharynx or bronchial wash culture will be helpful. Culture and sensitivity will be helpful.
3. Its only a respiratory infection and not related to angioplasty.
4. Antibiotics will control the infection. Improvement in protein and vitamins required to improve immunity.
