Why Is My Father's Tongue Bleeding?

hi doctor.
my father is heart patient. his toungue is bleeding since 30 mins. we have contacted the local doctor he have given some injection, adviced to stop medicine that thins blood, and place ice at the bleeding point. but still blood is not stopping. what could be possible remedy

thanks for your query, i have gone through your question, the bleeding could be due to trauma secondary to any sharp teeth...rule out the cause and treat it...bleeding could be exaggerated by the blood thinner...local bleeding can be controlled by applying pressure with cotton or gauze...you can just wash with saline which has best coagulant action or keep cotton wrapped in gauze dipped in saline over the bleeding site... consult a oral physician if excess bleeding occurs which needs sutures or cautry to control bleeding.. i hope my answer will help you.. take care..
