Why Is My Foot Turning Out And Pain In My Lower Calf?
I had TKR Oct. 2013 and while in the hospital my foot kept flopping to the outside. The nurse asked if it was normal for me and I told him no. In PT they again asked if it was normal for my foot to turn out amd again I said no. Now all swelling is gone and I found !myself walking with my foot turned out and causing pain in my lower calf. When I straighten my foot to walk it feels like my lower leg is nbeing twisted with pain from inside knee and down my inner calf. Is this caused by mal-alignment?
This external rotation of foot is due to ligament imbalance post TKR. You may need to consult your doctor and if required x ray knee can be done.
As per your symptoms you need to do physiotherapy and knee exercises to improve strength.
