Why Is One Ear Smaller Than The Other In My Baby?

My grandchild was born in October and in the last month or so some things have been noticed. His ear on one side is smaller than his other ear. On the same side, his eye looks a little lazy or perhaps smaller and the cheek on that side looks smaller. My son and his wife has noticed this and pointed it out to the pedatrician but they have not showed any concern and we are wondering if they should go to Children's hospital and seek another opinion. What is this condition, if any? Thanks

Hi, welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears that the child has a congenital abnormality in development, may be due to the failure in fusion of the embryonic features.
I advise you to consult a pediatric plastic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
He may need to have a surgery, with the aid of microscope.
Wishing him a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
