Why Is Pessery Inserted In Vagina?

Yes, please. Will you tell me about a "Pessery." I am not sure of the spelling...to insert in vagina and keep organs in place...does it work, do many woman use one, do you use it forever or not until your organs fall more? I had never heard of it until the doctor told me about it yesterday. Any help about this would be most wonderful.
thank you,
Jeansally

Hello,

Pessary can be for infection, prolapse or for contraceptive. I don’t know which pessary are you using but then one used for infection are most common and prolapse can be used for long time and to be changed after 3-6 month and they should be cleaned with soap and water.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Richa Agarwal, OBGYN
