Why Is Pregnancy Duration By LMP And Ultrasound Are Different?
Hi, I am six weeks two days pregnant according to my transviginal ultrasound, although i calculated my pregnancy to be of eight/nine weeks according to my last LMP. I am not exactly sure of my dates but I have a rough estimate of the week.(from 27th feb 2014 to 2nd March 2014) Now according to ultrasound my last LMP should be around 17th March which sounds a little off base although my periods are somewhat irregular but not with this wide gap.Other wise cardiac activity was present and the doctor said things seems to be normal.I am still a little worried of the time difference. What do you suggest.Thanks.
Hi, thanks for using HCM.. I understand your concern.. There is something called as late conception.. By this there is difference of nearly 2 weeks by scan and by LMP. Rpt scan after 2 weeks, if the growth is fine, then nothing to worry.. By that your corrected EDC will be 24 dec 2014. With irregular cycle , the exact date of ovulation or date of fertilisation cannot be predicted. Hope I have answered your queries. Good day.
