Why Is Pregnancy Positive Despite Taking The MT Kit?
Hi My wife has taken mifeprin kit few days back.. 1st medicine was taken by her few days back and after 1 day she took rest of the 4 medicines together orally. She has been bleeding since then but not that much. So, today after 4-5 days of taking medicine she again took the pregnancy test and she is still pregnant. Is it too early to take pregnancy test or should wait few more days? or can we take mifeprint kit again in next couple days if you think the first one did not take effect properly? Note : She is around 4 weeks pregnant,

Abortion pill (medical prescription is required) should be used for early (up to 63 days) termination of intrauterine pregnancy (Trans vaginal USG is needed) after getting guidance regarding schedule, dose and route of application. Do not take at home, it should be used under observation to prevent serious complication and successful termination of pregnancy.
Pregnancy test become negative 7-10 days after using abortion pill. So it is positive as you did early. Repeat the test after 5-6 days.
If it is positive suggests incomplete abortion or abnormal development of pregnancy in failure or ectopic pregnancy. So in that case you have to go for USG scan to find out above causes. Incomplete abortion is treated either by misoprostol or D & C. ectopic pregnancy require surgery, blood transfusion and fluid resuscitation.
Do not take another kit. Repeated abortion kit use lead to side effects like ectopic pregnancy, problem in future pregnancy, endometrial damage, infections.
