Why Is Sunburnn Sill Violently Red After Six Days?
Part of my sunburn still violently red 6 days after initial exposure. The skin is very red, scaly, with yellow dots. Aloe stings. I ve used aloe, cold compresses, and ibuprofen all week long. I even took a water and vinegar bath. Do I need to see a doctor ?
Hi. As per your case history of sunburn, my treatment advice is - 1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine for itching and NSAID like ibuprofen for pain. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
