Why Is The Bottom And Side Of My Foot Itching?

Hi, I went to a podiatrist because I had pain in the bottom and side of my foot right in the middle where the 5th metatarsal seems to be. She said the x ray showed no broken bones, and that I may have pulled a tendon and have a bit of tendonitis. She put me in a walking boot for 6-8 weeks and told me to do very limited walking. The spot seems to itch quite a bit, is this something I should report to her?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case, and I think that you might be having itching due to prolonged splinting. I would recommend you to apply dry clotrimazole powder and avoid moisture.
You can show it to your doctor. If there is no pain than you can stop using splint.
I hope this answer will help you. Let me know if you want to ask any other questions.
Thanks.
