Why Is The Thumb Causing Intense Pain And Swelling?

So today I used my right hand to help myself get up from the floor. I kinda slipped and bent my thumb almost all the way back.. i heard and felt a snapping noise and it started to swell and get intense pain.. I was in tears. It's been all day and all night and it's swollen but no bruising.. I can move it slightly but cant put pressure on it.. What could it be?

Welcome to HCM.
It looks to be muscle and soft tissue injury due to over stretching.
Start to apply ice 3 to 5 times day.
Take nsaid with serratiopeptidase to subside swelling and pain.
Local application of nsaid gel will give relief to some extent.
If pain and swelling increases after primary treatment then go for x-ray and consult orthopedician for further management.
