Hello doctor my wife pregnant with 5-6 weeks she made blood test 3 days ago the result it is positive we visit the doctor for make ultrasound she told us everything is ok and keep to take Utrogestan 100 mg 3 times/day but today there is some bleeding coming out with brown colour my waif she is worried about this event from miscarriage , Could you please give us the answer ASAP then i can reassure my wife thank you for your help
Hi, Thanks for the query. Utrogestan contains natural micronized progesterone. It helps in maintainance of pregnancy. Some amount of spotting can be seen in early pregnancy due to many causes like : - Growing gestational sac can damage small blood vessels in the uterine wall. -Increased blood supply to local genital organs can cause spotting even with mild friction. -Possibility of miscarriage etc. So, let her once consult gynecologist and get examined. If she recommends go for ultrasound again. If everything is normal, no need to worry. She can continue the progesterone tablets. If your doctor suggests go for progesterone injection also. Take care.
