I was bit by a jack russel 8 weeks ago on Sat. I recieved 4 deep puncture wounds on the lower part of my inner thigh. I went to the hospital and got a tetnus shot and antibiotics. They also washed it out with benidine. The swelling and brusing went all the way up my leg. There was also a very large hard knot about the size of a baseball. The dog did not have its rabies shot, but it was quarentiened for 10 days and did not show any sign of rabies. Now I am left with a hard knot about the size of a quarter. There is still some dark bruises where the puncture wounds were. They are a little smaller than the size of a dime. Why is there still bruising and this hard knot?
