Why Is There Pain And Swelling In Area Of Dislocation Of Elbow?
hi my name is rishi.. last week i had dislocation of left hand elbow joint of radial head dislocation and i get treatment of plaster.. after 8 days the plaster was very discomfart And loose. after 8 days i remove the plaster... then i feel relax and joint movments are possible. but mild pain, mild swelling is there. no stiffness no haematoma. plz suggest me a good treatment...
Hi, My name is also Rishi and I am a Surgeon. Was there any fracture or only dislocation of the Radial head? If only Radial head dislocation then nothing more needs to be done. If there is a fracture then you might need some more treatment. The pain for Radial head dislocation would be on the outer aspect of your elbow a few centimeters below the elbow line. Your Plaster got loose because the swelling which comes after the injury comes down over the next 4-5days and Plasters usually loosen. So, dont worry, nothing more would be required but dont exert with that elbow or lift heavy things as the ligaments and muscles around it would still be weak. Take care and feel free to contact again if there is any query. Dr Rishi.
