Why Is There Redness Of Conjunctiva With Tingling Sensation?
My husband was hit in the eye with a baseball yesterday. Now has facial tingling below the eye to his lip. Ice was applied intermittently after the injury for 2-3 hours. No eye involvement except for a small bruise by the inner corner of the eye. The outer portion of the conjunctiva is red but resolving similar to a conjunctival hemorrhage. The angle of the anterior chamber of the eye is open noted by flash light. Should we be concerned or is this possibly a nerve inflammation. Not tenderness noted or crepitus or blurred vision or eye pain. No blood visible by naked eye in the anterior chamber. Swelling mild yesterday but resolved today. Thanks in advance.
I suggest you to go for a detailed ocular examination which should include vision testing ,anterior segment slit lamp exam , gonioscopy for angle recession and retinal examination for any blunt injury sequelae.
