Why Knot In Rib Cage Hurting Constantly And Having Shortness Of Breath?

I have a 2 to 3 inch knot on my back left midway rib cage. I ve had it for 6 months or longer. Recently that area has started hurting in a terrible way and I m feeling short of breath. The pain has been constant for the last 20 hours. I m scared and I don t have insurance

I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you should first consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Chest x ray
2. Ultrasound examination of local rib knot.
3. CT thorax if required.
Rib swelling and breathlessness is seen in
1. Rib fracture
2. Rib cancer or lung cancer with rib metastasis.
So above mentioned investigations are required to diagnose your problem.
So first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
