Why Lymph Node Moved Upwards And Cause Swelling?

My lymph node moved upwards, from my ear to te back of my head, the area surrounding it ia quite tender but the node itself swells up and then goes completely down, im really scared that I have some sort of serious illness, but I don t suffer night sweats, nor lost of weight, so I m not really sure what s going on.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The swollen lymph node is due to local inflammation, Probably due to decayed teeth. As of now start a short course of antibiotics preferably Amoxiclav.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated. In that case, a fine needle biopsy might be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
