Why My Wife's Neck Is Swollen Just Above Her Clavicle?
My wife just had a stillborn baby on Monday. Her milk supply is coming in and she is engorged. She has a history of a small nodule in her thyroid. Otherwise healthy. Just had blood tests in the hospital and no problems there. The question is that her neck is swollen just above her clavicle. She is fearful as to what could cause the swelling.
According to history it could be adenomatous nodule or simple goiter nodule. .
Initial management is with FNAC and thyroid profiling ..... If thyroid levels normal and FNAC suggestive of simple goiter than iodine deficiency has to be ruled out .. If needed nodule can be excised . .
If iodine deficiency is there than ionized salt taken ...... If than needs scannnig can be done for thyroid. .
Take care.
Hope your concern solved.
Advise : consult physician for examination.
