Why Prescribe Duphaston For Regular Periods In PCOD With No Fertility Issues?

Hi,I have thyroid and pcod. My doc gave Duphoston only and no other tablet , I am already having folvite and thyronorm for thyriod. But my periods are regular. I dont understand why she gave me Duphoston when my periods are regular. My concern is pcod but with regular periods. Rest all factors like hairfall, weight gain , acne are already there but my periods are always regular. I am trying to concieve but I dont get why she gave Duphoston.

Hello,

Duphaston treats female infertility caused by progesterone deficiencies. Progesterone blood test should be done first. Progesterone is a sex hormone that improves women’s reproductive health. Its level may fluctuate throughout the menstrual cycle. Low progesterone levels may cause infertility, high risk pregnancy and miscarriage risk.

Since you are having problem in conceiving you and your partner are advised to get clinically examined by an infertility expert. Both of you will have to go through various tests and investigations. In the meantime, both partners should maintain healthy weight, if obese reduce weight. It is difficult to conceive with obesity.

Both partners should take high protein diet and homemade balanced food. Avoid taking packaged food, processed food, carbs, full fat dairy products, refined flour, junk food, etc. Avoid anxiety and stress both emotional and physical.
