Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why There Is A Swelling On The Front Of My Left Leg?
Today I noticed a swelling on the front of my left leg, about two inches below the knee-cap and slightly to the left. It it only slightly raised, round, and about 3 inches in diameter. It does not hurt and I do not remember injuring myself there. Should I wait and see if it resolves or go to see a doctor?
As with history, it appears to be nothing to worry. using icing, if you aren't diabetic, and if diabetic the use hot water bag. keep the leg elevated on a pillow and use a knee brace.
Do some simple static quadriceps and static hamstring after 3 days. in case not better in a week of time than we will see if you really need an X-ray.
In my clinical practice of 12 years, most cases are better with preventive measures and simple exercises.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
