Why There Is Absence Of Period But Having Bleeding While Lifting Heavy Objects?
I am 59 year old without health insurance. I have not had a period for two years but have experienced bleeding if I lift something heavy. Have had cramping like a period but not heavy bleeding. Alot of back pain with it. I am concerned. Please help.
I understand that you are having bleeding after menopause. Irrespective of what precipitates the bleed, we call it post menopausal bleeding. The most common cause is estrogen deficiency leading to atrophy of the uterine and vaginal lining This produces a condition called senile endometritis and leads to bleed. Other causes may be cervical lesions. Cancer of the cervix and endometrium are other rare causes that may produce bleeding.
So the best thing is to get an examination by a gynecologist, an ultrasound and an endometrial biopsy. The biopsy is most important in arriving at a diagnosis. The future treatment will depend upon the cause. Do not worry, this is common and caused mostly by estrogen deficiency.
