Why Was I Was Prescribed Trazodone HCL For Insomnia When I Do Not Have Depression?
I was just prescribed Trazodone HCL 50mg. tabs for insomnia. Everything I am reading about it has it. associated with depression, which I do not have. The studies I have read about also tie in insomnia with depression. I am very concerned about taking this, since I do not have depression, which is the main use for this drug.
Trazodone is very useful for insomnia at low dosage of 25 -100 mg. Definitely, it is also a good drug for depressive disorders, but it is usually given in high doses to treat the symptoms of depression and this dose is in the range of about 300 mg.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
