Why Will A Doctor Ask For A Cardiolite Stress Test With Injection Of A Drug And Isotopes In Your Body?
If someone is in good shape and active and can do treadmill stress test easily, why a ER Doctor will ask for a Cardiolite stress test/Lexiscan with injection of a drug and isotopes in your body. I had to go through but was not happy for possible side effects.
In your case you have not mentioned 1) your symptoms for which evaluation need to be done. 2) ECG (electrocardiogram) changes if it is done. 3) 2DEcho (echocardiography) changes like any structural heart disease if it is done.
In your case if ECG and 2DEcho have not been done, it is advisable to get it done first.
Cardiolyte stress test usually done when patient cannot walk on trademill dueto any cause like osteoarthritis.
Isotope scan usually done to know viability of heart muscle (myocardium).
I can advise you better after knowing your symptoms and tests done.
