Why Would I Feel Low After Tapering Down Seroquel?

I have been on Seroquel for several years. I have been feeling great and in that capacity I decided to taper off Seroquel.Much to my chagrin, I did notice that when I was on a lower dose, I just did not feel as good as on the higher dose. It was as much physical as mental. Why would this be?

Hi,

Most patients cannot stop psychiatric drugs abruptly. Slow tapering is required for some of them. The hard part is that there is no rule for tapering that applies to all patients.

Some need slower tapering while others may stop the drugs without any implications. Perhaps you should increase the dosage a bit and give yourself more time to adjust.

Please don't forget that the most appropriate person to guide you through tapering is the treating doctor who knows your medical history and clinical progress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
