Why Would A Doctor Prescribe Tryptomer 10 Mg For Acid Reflux?
I find Nexpro has improved my digestion and well-being. Since August 2013, been taking nexpro for 6 week courses then I stop and use an ayurvedic supplement and a probiotic for maintenance before and after lunch and dinner for about 10 days, by then the acid-reflux returns. So I start nexpro again.I was diagnosed with hiatal hernia in July 2013. Do have to take nexpro for the rest of my life? I am a 69 year old woman. Living in India since 2008. Why would a doctor prescribe tryptomer 10 mg for acid reflux?
Acid reflux means the gastric acid and contents are returning to esophagus which does not occur in a normal person. This is akin GERD that is Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease. One of the most common reasons for GERD is psychological problems like anxiety, stress and hence Tryptomer works on these to cause least reflux; please continue as your Doctor must have found the necessity in your case.
Nexpro is Esomeprazole that reduces the acid production in stomach. For avoiding reflux you need an additional motility regulator like Domperidone or Metoclopramide which needs a valid prescription of your Doctor.
Also take care to take soft and bland diet in small frequent way. Take an antacid when on empty stomach. Avoid foods, beverages and factors that instigate or enhance your problems.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
