Why Would One Need Angiogram For Panic Attacks And Chest Pain?
My brother is having what I believe is panic attacks trouble breathing and chest pains. He experiences these symptoms while at work mostly due to stress. It got so bad he went to the hospital yesterday. They want him to get an angiogram. I researched it and wonder if there is some other way to check this. The angiogram sounds very scary to me. My brother is 40 and over weight.
I had gone through the case and found that these might be alarming symptoms of Angina (heart attack).
But I will advise you that before going for angiogram, you must go for initial test like Tread Mill Test, Lipid Profile, Electro cardiogram during pain, some cardiac marker by blood test. If any two of them are positive then go for angiogram.
Treadmill test represent there is bloackage present or not, but angiogram shows percentage of bloakage with exact condition of vein of heart.
So I will advise you to go for these pre test and then go for angio if necessary.
Hope my answer will be effective for you.
