Will Gentian Violet Help Treat Persistent Crusted Scabies?

hi! I have been diagnosed with crusted scabies. I have used permethion (sp?) for this painful condition. I still have it. My Dr. now feels my condition is more reaction to one of my meds. She won t give me any more of the dangerous pesticide I feel at a loss. will gentian violet cure me? I know I have if not scabies some mite as I see black flakes/dots and white spear like flakes. Help me! XXXX@YYYY .com

Thanks for the query I understand your concern.
Crusted scabies is found to affect Immuno copromized persons. ... So the lesion is severe & not easily affected by normal management of scabies.
You need an expert skin specialist's consultation.. who would examine you thoroughly ... by removing the crust & examining the scabies lesion at the base to diagnose it to differentiate from psoriasis/ eczema/ seborrheic dermatitis.
The treatment advised thereafter would be cause specific. Considering it to be scabies ....
- Whole body cleaning with removal of crust/oral antibiotic & anti inflammatory pills / Antioxidants for improving immunity/ nutritional supplements for general health improvement as per need.
- Treatment of scabies lesion locally by application of drug like Scabindon to complete body EXCEPT FOR FACE.
Boiling all the linen / Clothes in use with soda bi carb...to disinfect them daily.
I feel with such an extensive & prolonged treatment under expert guidance would definitely free you from the problem. stay positive.
