Will Kenalog Injections Help Shrink Fat After Fat Grafting?
I had fat grafting about 2.5 years ago in my marionette lines. The fat has not dissipated since then. It is still over-stuffed. Will kenalog injections help shrink the fat? And, if so, should I be worried about side-effects such as craters or skin atrophy?
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Steroid injections can lead to tissue atrophy at the site they are injected and they can certainly cause fat atrophy/ fat to shrink. Of course a good cosmetic result would be that which achieves a controlled atrophy and does not over do it Or create craters. I would suggest you to go for lower doses/strength of steroid injections (diluted) and smaller volume of injections, one at a time even if it means more number of sittings. Leaving a gap of 3-4 weeks between sittings would allow for an adequate gap between injection doses and assess the response.
