Will Neupogen And Neumega Injections Causes Headache?
My husband had Neupogen and Neumega injections yesterday and today, supposed to have again in the am. He is having severe headache above the eyebrow, forehead. Could this be from the shot? He has had Neupogen after every chemo. His platelets were at 37,000. Before chemo treAtment on Thursday
If headaches represent something new to his symptoms he has after shots (or just in general) then, a headache of any type should be reported immediately to his physician since it could represent a hemorrhagic complication at the level of the brain with platelets that are that low.
If on the other hand, the headaches are just slightly worse than what they usually are then, the chance of there being an immediately reportable complication could be tempered a bit by seeing how things evolve in the next few hrs.
I'd have a very low threshold to make a move if your husband starts developing symptoms such as nausea/vomiting, changes in mental status, eye movement problems, slurred speech, numbness/tingling/weakness of a sudden nature in an arm or leg.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
