Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Docs, I am taking zyloric 300 for gout. After 3 months of taking medication my uric acid level reached on safe mark. But i have noticed that value of my ALT & AST increased. ALT 55(0-41 U/L), AST 43(0-40 U/L), ALB 48 (35-52 g/L). Doctor advised me to continue Zyloric and advised me to take Livolin forte. I am worried now that zyloric medicine would create problem for my liver. Your valuable comments much appreciated.

Will Zyloric 100mg Tablet Lead To Liver Problems?
Hi & Welcome to HCM. I appreciate your concern for the safety of Zyloric. Yes, it can cause liver problem as its side effect (which is reflected in the form of slightly raised ALT & AST). Consult your treating physician to reduce the dosage or take it less often than each day. He will also monitor (liver enzymes) you more closely. Continue taking Livolin forte which is a liver protective drug that is being used in the treatment of liver injury. Another possibility of use of an alternate but safer drug (not causing liver problems) to reduce the high uric acid. Hope to have answered your query.
